This program is for veterans seeking healing, connection, or simply a break from the noise. No prior experience with horses is needed.

Nope. You’ll work with horses on the ground first—building trust, communication, and connection through nonverbal interaction and basic horsemanship skills. When you're ready, usually during week 3 or 4, the whole class will learn to safely mount and ride.

This program is fully funded by Texas Health and is provided at no cost to veterans.

No referral, diagnosis, or prior treatment is needed. Each riding center will have their own paperwork and requirements. Just reach out—we’ll walk you through what’s next.

Currently, this program is partnered with two barns in the DFW are: Stable Strides Farm in Pilot Point and Riding Unlimited in Ponder.
