Our culture has descended into one of ignoring the best and celebrating the least. This leads to a veteran who feels he or she is no longer of worth, that their best days are now behind them. So now what’s the point?
life is a battle just as tough or more than any you face overseas – yet there is no adequate preparation for this transition. Many veterans don’t have external injuries, but they are still wounded.
“supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States” in a culture where you are prepared to lay down your life for your buddy to a culture where everyone appears to look out for only number one and no one even cares what you’ve been through?
when I’m over there… but once I’m home it seems like all I want to do is go BACK over there. My friends and family don’t understand. Sometimes I don’t either.
now when I hear someone complaining that life is tough, or they “just can’t take it any more” – I have a hard time understanding. Unless they were over there too.
